Women’s Hybrid 2.5/3.5+ League Recap

By April 15, 2017 League News, News, Uncategorized

Ninety-two women actively participated on eight 2.5/3.5+ hybrid league teams this season. Each team fielded five women with a wide range of ability almost weekly. After the dust cleared, 85 matches, 1101 games, and 20,280 individual points had been played, and BSC Waltham took this season’s title with a 3-2 win over BSC Allston. Clubs in the semifinals included the University Club and Newton Squash & Tennis Club.

This league season also included informal round robins on designated league nights for the newer-to-the-game crowd; nearly 20 different women participated at least once (some were even enticed into playing an official league match during the season). In addition, several sets of round robins for women took place during the season independent of the hybrid league, including beginners at Winsor and another half dozen women in the 3.5-4.0 range this winter. Roughly half of the ladies lunging in the league also participated in at least one MA state championship draw.

We are looking forward to next season already!
