The MA Squash Championship singles tournament is an excellent opportunity for players of all abilities and ages to compete against your peers.  No other tournament offers the breadth and depth of competition of the state. This season’s tournament will offer 30 different draws for genders, skill levels and ages.  There is no entry fee for current MA Squash and US Squash members – your MA and US squash memberships must be current in order to register.

Registration is open now and will close December 30, 2023.
This season, we will return to having an in-person finals night on Thursday April 25, 2024.  All draws will conclude on that date, and all finalists should plan to be available to participate in finals night.

Men:

  • no more than TWO age level draws
  • no more than TWO open skill level draws

Women:

  • no more than FIVE draws total
  • no more than TWO age level draws
  • no more than TWO open skill level draws
  • no more than TWO women’s skill level draws

You are eligible to play in younger age brackets than your age and higher skill brackets than your US Squash rating.

If you enter multiple skill level draws or multiple age group draws, they must all be “adjacent” to each other.  (E.g., you may enter 40+ and 45+, but not 35+ and 45+; you may enter 4.5 and 5.0, but not 4.5 and 5.5.)

Draws:

Women’s skill levels: 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5+

Women’s age levels: 19+, 30+, 40+, 50+, 60+

Mixed skill levels: 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0+

Mixed age levels: 35+, 40+, 45+, 50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+, 75+, 80+

Please note, some draws are very small, but we still plan on offering as many draws as possible!

Each draw will be scheduled independently based on the number of entrants.  The format of the tournament is single elimination for most draws and the scoring for all matches will be PAR-11.

Eligibility:

  • [NEW THIS SEASON] You must be 17 or older by December 31, 2023 (juniors are encouraged to sign up for the new  MA State Singles Junior Championships).
  • You must be an active MA Squash / US Squash member.
  • Age level draws: you must be the minimum age of the draw as of December 31, 2023.
  • Skill level draws: your archived rating on December 31, 2023 must be at or below the rating level of the draw.  E.g., to qualify for open 4.0, your US Squash rating must be at or below 4.0 on December 31, 2023.

In order to ensure fairness and consistency for everyone, eligibility criteria will be strictly enforced.

E.g., if your rating is 4.01, you do not qualify for the 4.0 draw.

E.g., if you turn 40 on January 1, you do not qualify for the 40+ draw.

We cannot make individual exceptions or accommodations.  It is your responsibility to ensure that you’ve entered the correct draw(s).  Due to the short turnaround time between registration closing and the start of the tournament, if you have not placed yourself in the correct draw(s) before registration closes, we may not be able to move you to a different draw after registration closes.

Each draw will be administered by a volunteer draw coordinator who is familiar with most of the players in their respective draws.  The draw coordinator will be your primary point of contact during the tournament, and you will receive additional communications from your draw coordinator.

Don’t miss this very competitive and fun event, or a chance to get back on the T!
