The Wellesley College squash program will lose its varsity status and compete as a club sport beginning in the 2017-2018 season. The college made this announcement in March.

The Wellesley team vehemently objects to the college’s decision and is seeking to retain its varsity status. The team has circulated this information about the situation.

Team members and other supporters of the Wellesley squash program have organized a petition seeking to keep squash as a varsity program. To date, over 500 people from Wellesley College, the MA Squash community, and beyond have signed the petition.

Michael T. Bello recently published this analysis of the situation on the College Squash Association website.

MA Squash encourages all members to read the above links and to consider voicing their opinion on this matter of great concern to local college players.
