Successful Frank Millet JCT Junior Tournament

The 2012-2013 US SQUASH season’s fifth and final Junior Championship Tour (JCT) event was held at Harvard’s Murr Center on Feb 16-18.

The Junior Championship Tour is the highest level of junior competition in the US, designed to promote head-to-head competition between the nation’s top Under 19, 17, 15, 13 and 11 juniors, and contributes to the selection of U.S. Junior Teams to represent the US at world events.

This JCT had 308 players from 21 US states participating in draws capped at 32 players.

Massachusetts players fared well in the tourney: Edward Columbia won the Boy’s U19 division, and Liam McClintock was runner up.  Cody Cortes won the boy’s U17 division.

There are 5 JCTs held each season, and the New England one is named for Frank Millet, long time/legendary coach of Milton Academy. Mr. Millet, now the Milton boys’ Assistant Coach/Emeritus, stopped by the event.  We got a nice photo of him with Morgan Poor, the current Milton boys’ varsity squash coach. The photo of Mr. Millet and several other photos appear in our Photo Gallery.
