MA Squash will be offering the Sam Magruder Summer League once again in 2015, beginning on June 10.
Captains should submit rosters to Ralph Kusinitz (rkusinitz@comcast.net) by May 24. This is a firm deadline that is necessary to allow time for assigning handicaps and putting together the schedule. Please list players in order of US Squash rating and include current ratings. Players without a rating should be listed between players deemed stronger and weaker based on in-house matches.
Teams will consist of four players competing every Wednesday evening, beginning June 10 and ending on or before August 12, with the exception of July 1. Play will start between 6pm and 7pm, but a request from a visiting team at least a week in advance to start as late as 7:30 due to travel must be agreed to.
Players of any skill level, age, or gender with MA/US Squash membership are eligible. Handicaps will be assigned to improve competition. A roster of at least ten players with a variety of skill levels is strongly recommended to ensure full teams and enjoyable competition. One-dimensional teams, either very strong or very weak, will not be accepted. In the past, large teams have been suitably diverse, so several small teams may be combined to achieve a suitable balance. Captains are encouraged to use all members on their rosters and to communicate sufficiently in advance with opposing captains to attempt to arrange close handicap match-ups. Captains who set up their rosters for the season in advance should try to have five people of diverse abilities available for each match so that final rosters with good match-ups can be finalized several days ahead of the match.
Individual players from clubs without sufficient interest to enter a team should feel free to contact league chair Ralph Kusinitz, and he will find them a suitable team to play on.
