The Deerfield tournament has traditionally been run over Thanksgiving week-end, and this was again the case in 2012. The fifth annual tournament was presented in the beautiful Dewey Squash Center in the historic town of Deerfield, site of Deerfield Academy and historic homes dating back to the 18^th century and the French and Indian War.

This year’s event was the largest yet, even with draws restricted to 32 in accordance with new rules set forth by US Squash for all Gold tournaments. 241 entrants from the Eastern seaboard and as far west as Arizona competed in ten divisions, playing some 550 matches in a little over 48 hours. Monrad draws enabled almost everyone to play four or five matches to a single finishing spot.
