The MFS Pro-Am Doubles Tournament begins on Wednesday, January 4 at The University Club in Boston. Matches in both the SDA and WSDA draws will take place over the course of the week through the finals on Sunday.
On Wednesday, two of the matches will feature local players. At noon, Julian Kirby & Ryan Mullaney will play against Doug Lifford & Pat Malloy. The following match will pit Patrick Haynes & Hameed Ahmed against Amanda Sobhy & Suzie Pierrepont. The winners of these two matches will play again later on Wednesday for a spot in the main draw.
Sobhy & Pierrepont are entered in both the SDA draw, which has no gender restrictions, and the WSDA women’s event. Their first match in the latter draw is at 1:00pm on Friday, January 6.
Doubles aficionados are welcome to watch any of the matches at the UClub for no charge.
It is possible for people to follow the action even if they can’t get to the UClub. The SDA pro matches will be streamed live, and scores of the matches are available at any time at SDAProTour.com/live.
