The Cam-Am Cup will be taking place in Montreal, starting Thursday, October 23 and concluding Sunday, October 26. This biennial doubles event, which started in 2008 in Boston, rotates between venues in the US and Canada. The competition features both men and women, with the two best teams in each age group (Open through 75+ for the men, Open through 55+ for the women) representing their country.
Twelve players from Boston will be competing this year: Graham Bassett, Len Bernheimer, Mac Davidson, Doug Lifford, John Nimick, Tom Poor, Chris Spahr, and Sandy Tierney for the US men; Sue Greene, Mary McKee, and Hope Crosier for the US women; and Andrew Slater “the Traitor” for Canada.
Doubles aficionados can follow the competition in real time, as matches conclude and scores are posted, via a special website created for the first Can-Am Cup.
