The inaugural Raise a Racquet squash tournament at the Marblehead Y took place on 3/8/14 and was a squashing success. 32 participants from several clubs competed for 3 trophies. Top individual fundraiser, Dave Hybels, Top team fundraiser, captained by Dave Hybels and Best team in competition, captained by Bijoo George. We raised just under $35,000 which was on target for our original goal. Everyone who participated had a great time. The event concluded with fabulous cocktail party and Jackie and Dan Rosenthal’s house. Thanks to all who participated and sponsored the event. A special shout out to the other captains: Jim Hunt and Taylor Milner. Also thank you to Ralph Kusinitz, Scott Hitchcock, Beth Francis, Ann Marie Green and Chris Bevilacqua. And thanks for the generous contributions from Ralph and Janice James and Colin Brenan and Sandra Moores. Next year’s event is tentatively set for February 28, 2015.
