Turnout was overwhelming for the Rally for Rachid tournament held yesterday at the Sports Club LA. Fellow squashers, family, and friends showed up to honor and show support for Rachid Regragui. Some 25 players registered in advance for the tourney, but then the turnout was much greater so tourney managers Brad Mosier, Chris Smith, and Anthony Bardaro, quickly adjusted the format into more of a tourney/round robin, with players just showing up, walking on courts, having fun, and spending time celebrating their friendship with Rachid and their love of the game. Proceeds are going directly to Rachid to offset the extraordinary expenses he has incurred as result of his situation.
