One of the major events of the squash season, the annual pro and pro-am doubles championships, will be played at the University Club on January 4-8, 2017. Several changes from previous years will be featured in the upcoming iteration.
For the first time ever, a women’s pro division will be included. Six of the top women’s pro teams will vie for significant prize money, and they will join the top 12 men’s pro teams, who will play in their own division. In addition, the pros will be paired with amateurs in a separate tournament. The pro-am tournament provides many players the thrill of playing along with a pro partner, and the resulting matches are often close and entertaining.
MFS Investment Management is the new title sponsor, and it is wonderful to have this wonderful company on board for a multi-year period. In addition, Sapient Global Markets and Windham Capital have signed on as associate sponsors for the 2017 event.
For the 26th consecutive year, the UClub will host the very best pro doubles players in the world. Matches will begin on Wednesday, January 4 and will continue throughout the week. A new Saturday evening session will be held, featuring the two men’s professional semi-final matches. And expanded viewing will be organized for the semi-final and final matches.
Several social events (Thursday drinks courtside, Friday buffet dinner, and Sunday brunch) occur during tournament week, and all supporters receive tournament favors. Player and patron packages are still available
