2017 MA Squash Singles Championships

Signup is now underway for the 2017 MA Squash Singles Championships!

The annual tournament is an excellent opportunity for players of all abilities and ages to compete against peers. No other tournaments offer the breadth and depth of competition of the state. This season’s tournament will offer 27 different draws for all genders, skill levels, and ages. The 2017 tourney promises to be bigger and more competitive than last year, so don’t miss out on the challenge! Plus, it’s free. There is no entry fee for current MA Squash and US Squash members (your US squash membership must be current in order to register).

Please note that registration closes on December 27, 2016!

Play will begin as early as January 9, 2017 depending on the draw size and will conclude at the finals event on Thursday April 13, 2017 at Harvard’s Murr Center.

The draws will include the following: women’s skill levels 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5+; women’s age levels 20+, 30+, 40+, 50+, and 60+; open skill levels 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, and 6.0; and men’s age levels 35+, 40+, 45+, 50+, 55+, 60+, 65+, 70+, and 75+.

Each draw will be scheduled independently based on the number of entrants.  The format of the tournament is single elimination for most draws, and the scoring for all matches will be PAR-11.

Eligibility:  To qualify for any of the age level draws, you must be the minimum age of the draw as of January 1, 2017. To qualify for any of the skill level draws, you must be at or below the rating level of the draw as of December 21, 2016. For example, in order to qualify for Open 4.0, your US Squash rating must be at or below 4.0 on December 21, 2016.  Each draw will be administered by a volunteer draw coordinator who is familiar with most of the players in their respective draws. The coordinator will determine eligibility for draws and may reassign as required.

You may enter more than one draw but no more than two skill level draws. You are eligible to play in the younger age brackets and the higher skill level brackets.

Don’t miss this very competitive and fun event! Even if you don’t quite make it through to the finals, you should plan to attend finals night at Harvard’s Murr Center. Refreshments will be provided courtesy of MA Squash.
